…chance to get eaten alive by the largest German Shepherd I’ve ever seen 😯 I had just turned into the track that leads over to the very old (and steep) bridleway to ‘strike’ out for Holmwood Common when I came upon (prob about 10mph) two blokes being taken for a walk by this big 'f£ck-Off' hound. The thing had a muzzle (not a good sign) but was on one of those ridiculous 50 mile long leads which looked close to breaking point – I mean the older guy of the pair simply made no difference, a real useless ****.
The owner clearly pumped iron but he was struggling to be fair and at one point I had serious concern about what protection my Gortex socks might offer against the canine's onslaught. After appros. 3 to 5 mins of growling, jumping, lurching, dragging (them) he finally got the thing to heel - just stat still on my bike, as movement seemed to aggravate it?
I do not want to meet that on a night ride 😯 😯
I'd be p**sed off too if someone fitted a muzzle to me.
