There was a surplus of Clown bikes, but with the recession and the Tories trying to introduce new legislation for circuses a lot more clowns are now freelance. They have to travel around for work now and so a greater number of clowns are holding onto their bikes rather than sell them to bearded IT workers from Surrey.

What happened to the carbon 29ers? Seems to have gone pretty quiet on those.

It takes ages to stretch the seat and chain stays without them cracking.

I had a little spin on the 29er Carbon Lurcher and much preferred the 29er Scandal or even the 29er Inbred. Lurcher was VERY harsh and dead feeling. But silly light.

What is the big thing about these? As far as I can see it's a poor mans bike!!! Cheap a tacky!!

On One allows some not so flush poeple to ride with out paying for big branding - marketing- reselling to ride. So you are right about poor man bike in some respects but they an't tacky, I like the colours and graphics oh I don't own one.

Over priced IMO. Why are they so expensive now for a rusty steel frame? I bought one a few years ago for half that new.

Getting pricey now at £225 just for the frame. Not the bargain they used to be. They do ride well though. I love mine.

"A poor mans bike". I like it. Makes it all the more appealing.

Definitely overpriced now. The swapout price is horrendous too.

I wanted one but not at that price.

edit: actually the trick to any On One purchase is wait for the sale. Carbon 456 'pre order' £399 - early adopters promised a price that would never be repeated. Few months later they sell them for £399 with bars, headset, seat post....

Wait for the sale when they thrown in some extras or reduce the price. Of course there is the problem that they keep stocks very low.

you mean an £8k home built Locost 7/Mk Indy/7-esque car 😉

You don't get much of a Caterham for £8k 🙁
