Are they available with some kind of back pocket, for a phone? I was happy to find out last week that the liners are, but just wondering about actual baggies.

I've got a big arse and thighs, so I need something with a generous fit there but not so much the waist.

By back pocket I mean something in the small of the back, not on your actual bum like the Endura Humvee map pockets or on the thigh. I can't stand dangling things.

I was going to suggest the Humvees with the map pocket, I think it's great, just with they weren't such heavy material!

Compared to the pointless knee pockets (which flap), and the normal pockets (which are too tight when pedaling).

I've got old Humvee 3/4s with the map pocket, but they are a bit tight so my phone is pressed against my thigh, which I don't really like. Maybe a size up.

The Madisons that we have got have a zip in back pocket for a phone but its more above your hip than in the middle. My Demo shorts have the ideal pocket in the waistband at the back but I cant fit the S10e in it as its too wide

the bib-baggies currently half price from Aussie Grit have pockets at the small of your back. Not so big that I'd call them a map pocket but a iPhone 11 goes in ok

I gave up on the phone pocket, and went for Assos Trail Cargo because their other stuff is so brilliant. Bit of a change from the usual MTB thing, and they are a bit OTT at £105 for shorts with no liner.

They came today in a tiny box - they are very thin, not much to them at all. Made of a type of very thin stretch softlayer, and feel barely there like wearing pajama shorts. Hopefully I'll hardly feel them on the bike, and they'd better last well for the price.

You're actually a girl and I claim my £10 🙄😂😉

Hmmm, my experience of thin material is never great, they always rip on the crotch or wear through where the arse gets gritty

Madison with the angled phone pocket at back of the thigh are wicked. 👌🏻

Well I've got some Gore ones that are very thin and have worn well. And we'll see how far my £105 goes with these.

Why do most baggies and shorts generally come with a popper at the waist? Even if you aren't plumpish you move around on the bike and the popper pops at a very inconvenient moment.
We should have a ' what button baggies' thread!

My poppers never popped! 🙂

It's velcro I bloody hate, awful stuff, just give us belt loops!.

Agree totally on the belt loops, I ended up giving away a really nice pair of shorts when I lost a bit of weight. Normally I would have just stuck a belt on but no loops so no option and I certainly am not up to sowing some on!

I really like Fox Rangers. The fit is good and although the liners are only ok they’re separate and the pockets are great. There is a zip up side pocket on the right which takes my iPhone 8 and a flap-close pocket on the left which I’ve found will take my small Silky folding saw. Neither phone or saw get in the way whilst riding.

I am big of arse and thigh and get on well with Dakine shorts.

Phone goes in normal front pocket, no dramas.

Anyone tried Fox Defend Kevlar? They are £140, but will be worth it if they don't fall to bits

Assos have thought of this. Stretchy waist.

the waistband from a pair of yoga pants would be a good solution.

when baggies first appeared I thought that a baggy shell attached to a Lycra liner lower down from the waist would be comfortable.

Aussie grit bib baggies?

They've got 4mesh pockets in the small of your back, 50‰ off with "save50" code. not tried them myself but I just got a gilet from the PSA on another thread and I'm quite impressed for the price...

That's what they are like, only higher up the back. They are supremely comfy, however they did slip down slightly. But I think this is my fault - I seem to push my bum back on steep climbs which pulls my shorts down.

Re the phone storage, I bought a Salomon running belt which is fantastic.

I need some new ones too as I've worn through my TLD skylines.

Does anyone know how the fit of the TLD sprint shorts compares to the TLD skylines?

Sombrio are the oldest toughest well fitting shorts I've ever had

TLD one I use most of time cause the comfy liner

Best quality and colour but far too big in xxl are RaceFace ones even they drag down my fat ass and do not fit correctly

Shame as they are truly amazing quality & ridden in only twice
