At least you have
C2W
Huge money invest into cycling.
I am in the process to simulate my tax for next year (based on the incomes of this year).
I commute by train + bike to be responsible and there is **** all for me. I can't even declare the tyres and chain as expenses. However if I were to drive to work, I would pay way less taxes. And best is the bigger my car is the less taxes I would pay.

Now someday I really wonder why I bother with road rage, bullying, rain, cold and so when in the end even my ****ing government (which superactive half dwarf is apparently a jey hey ****ing roady) don't acknowledge the simple fact that commuting by bike is the easiest way to meet kyoto target.

🙁

so you're saying that in France you can deduct the cost of your commute by car (which I presume you own) to work from your annual tax bill?

applies to most of europe too, my german housemate could claim back the cost of clothes for work too (suits, shirts, shoes, ties etc).

at least I can claim 20p per mile for my bike mileage in London. At about £70 a year it doesnt really cover my "fuel" costs, but it's much more than my parts costs of £0.00 🙂

Stoner yes up to 80 km daily commute.
Apparently I can't even do because it's a CDD (temp job).
If you get a position at uni you can deduct the cost of a suit, a laptop and obviously your commute. If you don't have a canteen at work you can deduct the cost of the meal, up to 11€ (minus the estimated 4.28€ of a meal at home).

soob - yep, its the mileage I do when coming to London to see a client - my "usual" place of work is back in Malvern.

Mrs S is a stickler for the tax rools. I never get a chance to fleece the treasury 🙁
