Frame arrived from the States yesterday, built up today and ridden tonight.

Obviously heavier than the 5spot but still climbs really well, LOADS of grip and remarkably agile.

Point the beast downhill though and it just opens up! So stable and forgiving. STill fettling with the shocks but it is damn quick!

Could do with a third lung and bigger legs but 3 months on this prior to the Alps trip and I should just about have grown those!

Forst ever 6" bike and very impressed!

Pics up tomorrow!

Lucky chap!

How did you get on bringing it in from the States?
Ive been told the state of the pound and import taxes make it more trouble than its worth

Enjoy it

its a 2008 model and so not the DW link version. Got it for £620 from the States (posted) which i thought was pretty good! Only got £45 import duty as well (no idea why!).

Link to pics below (just noticed that the seatpost is the 'wrong' way round - doh!):

Hope you've not been using that jetwash on your new bike, if so you would be having to be called a bit of a heathen,....bike still looks lush though 😆

do those mudguard things on your fork actually work? I fail to see how they stop any mud/spray hitting you.

Very nice! Taking my RFX to the alps again this year, it's perfect for that kind if stuff.
Your rear mech housing looks very tight over the rocker?
Oh, and running a triple on a 6"+ travel bike is just wrong!!

Here's mine from last year, changed a few things since then:

bash guard en-route and cable housings will be elongated as they are tight.

90mm down to 70mm and a layback post should see it more stable at warp speed.

Also will change to a short cage rear mech.

Very happy with it.

Bought from a private seller in the US btw.

Off to do Jacobs Ladder tomorrow!
