.. even if I wanted to brave the thunderstorm - it's so dark I'd need lights. Seriously this is some seriously black weather. Like 11pm out there.

Are you sure it's not just that you've forgotten where you live?

There's no need to be scared. You can come out from under the desk now

Holy crap.. you know when you are in a car wash and the water hits the windows - this is worse than that on the office windows.

I rode home in a freak summer storm a few years ago, no waterproofs, no lights. I was just waiting for someone to slam into me. Probably should have waited until it had all cleared really. Good luck!

No camera I'm afraid MF. Not even a phone one.

In Munich, btw.

i think you'll find that the drivers of motorised vehicles will be more careful and more considerate to other road users in such circumstances*

Obviously a 'sensible commuter with mudguards and lights permanently attached' fail ๐Ÿ˜‰

Its normal weather out there Mol.
In another half an hour it'll all be bright and fresh and you'll be able to ride home via the biergarten.

And lo, it has cleared up and is fairly sunny now. Looks like I have an hour or so to get home before the next one rolls in, according to the radar.

I told you so ๐Ÿ˜€

It's something to do with them big rocky things you can see out of your south-facing window.

It's just that time of year mate, you can expect it most evenings in high Summer.
It freshens things up nicely though, just enjoy the sweetness of the air around all the post-downpour greenery.

Eck, most of the post-storm greenery was all over the roads and cycleways ๐Ÿ™‚ But yes, I've realised that it's common - been doing it since May.
