Has anybody tried these High5 or nuun hydration tablets? I have just purchased a tube for a Gold Duke Of Edinburgh trip as the hlorine purification makes the water taste vile,
any thoughts on the flavour? And do they genuinely maintain hydration?
I've tried both and have stayed with the High 5 simply because they are cheaper. I like the Citrus the most (or Lemon/Lime in Nuun). Can't say if they really make much of a difference but i certainly think i've cramped less since i've been using them although that may just be because i'm drinking more fluid in general?
At the price of High5 i'm happy to keep using them.
Used both, prefer High5, they are slightly cheaper and taste slightly better too.
Both pretty mush the same but High5 Zero are cheaper. I use them for post cycle event rehydration or for non-endurance events like walking.
Ive use Nuun in big marathon events, as i am a big sweater and can be prone to cramp after about 6 hours. I noticebly cramp less when i take them. Berry one is nice
Also - Awesome as a hangover cure! So I've been told, that is....
Nuun ftw. Similar thread a few weeks ago, do a search.
Using Nuun tri-berry for the first time yesterday for the ride from Carlisle to Newcastle. Used to get terrible dehydration headaches but managed fine yesterday. Tasted good too.
I wouldn't unless either racing or very very hot weather.
Wht you need for energy is carbs.
I use Nuun, probably over the top for the cycling that I do mind.
Avoid the Cola flavour, it's disgusting ๐
Tri-Berry is nice though.

OP asked for hydration though, and the High 5 tabs help this.
TJ will be along shortly to tell you you don't need electrolytes.
High 5 ones are cheap and taste OK, they fend off the slightly plasticky taste of water in a bottle too long so I use them on the commute.
Btw if you want to purify water, use something without chlorine in it. Puritabs are silver based and don't taste of anything.
