Hi all - I'm new to Singletrack & a fairly new cyclist. I bought my rockhopper pro 2008 a couple years back and have mainly been using it for mountain trails etc.. As such the standard fast track tyres work well. I've recently started cycling to work - mainly canal tracks and a bit of tarmac.

My question is - can anyone recommend a good medium range tyre I can use on this rockhopper suitable for canal tracks? Do I need to change the rims etc??

Cheers, RS

Have you looked at the Specialized Crossroads? It's designed for just what you suggest.

Why would you need to change the rim? Just swap the tyres over. All you need is a couple of tyre levers & a pump.

Cyclestore are doing them for <£17 with a free tube.

I'd wait until your Fast Traks are worn out completely. They will work fine on the road/canal path too.
