Hi all

I was cleaning the cassette on my bike recently and the whole Hunt hub (2019 Gravel 30s) pulled apart very easily. I've reassembled it and pushed on the end caps firmly. Is that all there is to it?

Doing the Gritty130 on Sunday and want my bike in one piece!

Tends to be the case with many wheels, once on the bike they will be held in place by the axle and frame

Yes it's fine. It's a blessing when you want to change the bearings or freehub. Took me a few minutes and no special tools to refresh mine.

(Un)happy memories here of Hope freehubs falling off followed by a frantic search for the last missing spring or pawl.

You need to make sure the black rubber seal behind the cassette is properly seated into the hubshell. Not sure about the Gravel 30s but on the mtb hubs the outer edge of the seal needs to be pushed in a bit further than you might think - it’ll snap into a little groove when properly seated. Otherwise the freehub gets really draggy.

How did a Hope freehub fall off? I recently went to take off an XD freehub and replace it with microspline and I had a tough time getting the old one off and pressing the new one on. Pro4 with the green sealing ring.

Had to loosen the cassette slightly in the end and tap the back of the cassette to get the old one off. Otherwise I couldn’t move it.
