Hardtail.

Don't own a CX, otherwise I'd ride that.

Singlespeed hardtail - can anyone tell me how much of the course is flat? Will 32:18 be too spinney?

EDIT:

Answer for the interested was:

Not many flat bits 32:16 would be better though

I rode round there yesterday. I would think something that is easy to push or carry would be useful with nice thin tyres.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Singlespeed would probably be good for all except a couple of bits.

No rain forecast for the week preceding event though...
(although that forecast comes from my desktop widget 'AccuwWeather' not to be trusted!)

The course might be all dry and dusty with a rain free week ๐Ÿ™„

It is.

However, should you feel the urge to marshal you will have a guaranteed place in the next one*... and 5 lucky marshals will get their place free!

* If we do a next one.
