Went for a ride this morning, pretty cold, light dusting of snow on the ground. I found some frozen puddles so obviously had to jump around on the ice to see if I could make it crack. I could. So, cold wet feet. Got back to the car, bike etc in boot, shoes and socks off, changed into spares. Got home, went in for a shower, then went to get stuff out of the car. My socks had frozen into hard lumps inside my shoes. Within an hour of coming off my feet...
Just thought I'd share ๐Ÿ™‚

Washed the bikes on the car rack at end of ride. Went inside to warm up and have a cup of tea. Went outside and found the straps had almost frozen solid, another 15 mins and we wouldn't have been able to take the bikes off!

Fingers froze to my brake levers today, had to peel them off like when you get them stuck to something in the freezer. COLD. I should start wearing my gloves about now I suppose.

The chain stuck to the cassette is usually a pretty good clue.

Shoud you be mixing mortar when It's that cold? Thought the freezing was meant to damage the mix. Or is it just an excuse brickies use for not going out below 4 degrees c?

The seals on my disc brakes harden up and there's less travel on the levers. Painful finger tips through 2 sets of gloves.

I think it's gotta be 2 degrees and rising... I'm not sure though.. I'm just a grunt worker..

you can rest asured though that no laying was done that day and the mix was abandoned

Just got back from a call out, a tree had fallen down blocking a bridge arch. Up to my knees in water and when I took my waders off we sat there drinking a welcoming cuppa and watching them freeze solid. Even the chainsaw had to be defrosted.
