Nice weather means clean the ****in bikes...

I always degreased chain and gears 1st and car shampoo with bucket and sponge the rest of the bike then lube when dry etc.

Now I'm being told in the pub do the gears last or first or last....

What do you do? does it matter as long as it's all clean???

I guess if you do it first it mean's you don't get dirt from it onto the rest of your bike, but it can't really matter much i'd have thought so long as it's all clean.

You're cleaner than me though,i just do my drive chain every so often and wipe the rest of the bike with a damp cloth,or sometimes carefully spray it with the garden hose and have a look for cracks anywhere.

Not cleaner than you -I'm using my recovery from ride day (Sunday) to clean and service a few bikes covered in utter $hite. Even winter crap is still on my roadbike.

Mtb riding thru mud but drivetrain is clean!
