I've got an old F.W Evans frame which i've inherited, and my parents are quite keen for me to get it resprayed and cromed by the origional people,i'm not too fussed though,so long as they do a good job and put new FW Evans decals on which look the same. It would always be nice to get it done by the origional people, but am i correct in guessing that there isn't a frame builder or resprayer called F.W.Evans anymore?
Many thanks,
Tim
F.W Evans frames were built by some London framebuilder then labelled up. Can't for the life of me remember who though. Might have been Chas Roberts? I know that "back in the day" any frames coming into Evans for respray were picked up by Bob Jackson.
Similar to a lot of frames on the market now, all built in the same factory in Taiwan and labelled up or Litespeed building for Cove etc.
"The first shop was originally known as F.W. Evans Cycles and was located on Kennington Road in south east London. Trading from this site for thirty years F.W Evans Cycles built up a strong reputation as a quality cycle shop and in particular building its own frames and bikes."

Reading that link above it goes on to mention the frames - I was right, they were built by Chas Roberts:

Might be worth giving them a call, see what they can do re the decals?
