i just bought a new surly crosscheck. Im not mega fusy about keeping it pollished, but id like to try stop it getting to many chips in it.
does anyone have any cheep ways of protecting it
or recomend and kind of bike tape. ive read that 3mm Helitape is good.
could also geta chainstay protector
cheers
I use the copter tape from Biketart on the frame and also wrap self-amalgamating from Screwfix on the chainstays.
Works a treat.
'InvisiFRAME' is great stuff, I've got a few mates who've had their frames done and it looks great and works a treat for decreasing damage. Also when you take the stuff off, the frame looks new again 😀
The guy doing it is based in the Shropshire area and charges about £50-60'ish for the whole frame done, even crank arms if you wanted it. The frame is measured using Verniers and then some CAD wizardry done...which in the end produces accurate cuts of HeliTape (matt or gloss finish), which he can then place on the frame. Or he can send it to you to do if you fancied that. I'd definitely look him up and check out the options anyhow.

Hope it helps.
i think it seems unnecessary to do the whole frame. i was thinking just the top tube, down tube seat tube and chain stay
Think he does smaller packs of frame protection strips as well, could work out cheaper than other places 🙂
