I usually track my routes with the GPS on my phone and also usually forget to turn it off after the route, so end up with a track from the drive home too.
How can I edit the gpx file to remove the points I don't want?
GPS TrackMaker will do it, along with a bunch of other free software out there.
I normally open them up in notepad ++ and delete the waypoints i don't want. Gpx files are fairly easy to read
Sporttracks has an edit function, and it is free!
Other than that, a gpx file can be opened in a text editor and the additional coordinates removed...just make sure you keep the tags at the end (</track>,</route> etc.)
+1 for Sporttracks - import the track then split it using the edit tool.
thanks - I'll give Sporttracks a go when I'm home
I've been using Sporttracks for a while now yet I edit my .gpxs in Notepad. The edit function has passed me by. I take it its reasonably obvious to find, its just me being useless again?
