well im fed up of spending £10 a pop on energy/isotonic powder so im going to make my own.

how much salt/sugar do you use for 3L of water?

A salt / sugar isotonic mix is (measured in weight by volume) 0.18% sodium to 4% sugar

So in a litre a bit under half a teaspoonful of salt and 8 spoonfuls of sugar

Less strong is better than overstrong I think

Dunno, but I use half and half OJ and water with a pinch of salt in a 750ml bottle. So to fill a 3l bladder that'd be 1 1/2 l juice and top up, couple of seconds pour of the salt cellar. There will be others along soon to say this is crap and talk about powders and malosomething.
