[Closed] How much rubber can my XTC take in the back?

I'm normally a one tyre all year round kinda guy and have been using Fire XC Pro 2.1s for a fair while as they're great for most of my local riding and reasonably versatile. However, as trips to trail centres and other places with rocks are becoming a bit more frequent I fancy something a bit beefier. The only problem is that my 2003 XTC frame doesn't seem to have a hell of a lot of clearance on the chainstays (I don't think the MX Pro up front shouldn't cause any issues).

So, what tyres fit the bill, and how big can I get away with? Less than £50 a pair would be good too 😉
