Im thinking of building a rigid, 29er, single speed but am a teenager and as usual I am strapped for cash. How much should I spend on the Frame, Forks and Wheels?

Im looking for steel frame etc. not fancy carbon and titanium bits

cheers

On-One jobbie would be the cheapest if buying new.

I'm currently building up an OnOne Inbred 29er (will be finished this weekend) and i reckon it's cost me around £600. Major costs were frame (£153), forks (£125), front wheel (£83) and brakes (£140)

That was pretty much all new stuff though (although i already had spare tyres, back wheel, bars, rotors and grips) so i'd suggest you may be able to do a full bike for around £400 max if you use the classifieds for decent 2nd hand stuff. All depends to what spec level you want to build it?

Ive just sold a 29er Inbred frame for just over the £110 mark second hand and I have seen carbon rigids go for £90.

As a point of reference I got a secondhand Singular Swift Frame and rigid forks for £250.

Reckon wheels would set you back in the £80-200 range depending on hubs/rims and whether you build them yourself.

if you are just "acquire" the green 29er frame and bits from him, unless it's already been traded for something else 😉

You can get a new Haro Mary SS off Flea Bay complete for £365 inc postage full bike. Look like good value. Write ups seem good.
