I like them, and have got addicted to having lots of light choices..
I have:
An original Magicshine or clone P7 C bin
A Sub 66 P7 D bin
A Magicshine 3 x XPG lighthead
and on it's way is a P7 D bin Gemini Titan (Bike Ray 2) lighthead.
I also have a couple of headtorches with some kind of cree (R5?) spot...
And loads of batteries.. all Chinese, all have been well behaved.. 4400mah and 6600mah etc.
Hope R4, Hope Vision 2 (in the queue for a Trout upgrade) and a Cree torch from EBay that doesn't work - replacement on the way.
3 I suppose, really- a MJ872 (atomic darkness-f***er), a MJ810 (XML) and a P7-D torch with an external 4-cell battery pack.
Also got another P7-D torch which is on my commuting helmet. And an XML torch which controversially, I use as a torch.
around a dozen home made ones varying from 100 lupins to 900
MJ872
AyUp's
Led Lensor P7
2 x Tesco Cree's
Is an XML T6 about the same brightness as a D bin P7?
With mine, the XML is brighter but much narrower. Though it's hard to compare fairly, the XML's nature means that even though it's got a decent wider throw it gets a bit blown out by the spotlight, the high contrast makes it seem duller than it is.
2 x P7 torches that the kids use for riding home from school, & a 1200 lumen DX jobbie that I've had a few weeks. Usually run 1 x P7 on the bars & 1200 on the helmet.
1x exposure strada
1x exposure diablo
Both grat imo as about 50% of my riding is on road and the diablo complements the strada for anything off road.
2 x Cateye DoubleShots
1 x Magicshine XML
1 x Ultrafire Torch helmet mounted
Ay-up V4 adventure kit.
3.....2 MJ872's & 1 from torchy the battery boy
4200 claimed lumens if required 😯
MJ872 on the bars (atomic darkness-f***er) - Made me laugh! nice1
MJ808 on the helmet
Knocks the fun out of it tbh not dark anymore. Blooming ridicules!!
1x DX P7 "Bastid"
1x DX XML-T6
1x P7 18650 torch (used as both a torch and sometimes a helmet light)
all good....
MTB:
2x DX P7 (the new '1200' lumens ones)
1x blackburn mars rear
1x P7 torch (helmet mounted)
Road:
1x knog front (cant remeber the name/model)
1x knog frog? rear
1x cateye rear
and prob about 3 or 4 more in the shed
Incidentally, the MJ-872 has just made pretty much all of mine redundant... Just tried it as a head light for the first time and it's phenomenal- seemed to make more sense on the bars with a 810 on the head but I think the MK872 on its own is more effective. Takes you past the point where throwing more light at the scenery makes much difference, and gives a much more even and consistent light than having a spotlight bouncing around in the beam does.
Will probably still run the P7 on the bars though as a backup.

OW, im thinking about a maxx-d, have you compared against an MJ872?
Im not as impressed with mine as everyone else seems to be.
FRONT:
Troutie lumen lib mk3
Exposure little 2 led Race
A cateye backup/commuter
and a little 5 led keyfob sized backup
Edit: forgot my 2 £10 tesco torches of a couble of years ago for occasional helmet mounting with a joystick bracket
REAR:
two decent cateye rear lights and a knog rear light which is crap and let in water and stoped working which i cant get my money back on coz i dont know if i kept the receipt and im not going to search the house looking.
Too many, my favourite is still my old Lupine Telsa 5, great beam and lightweight. It's not just about the lumens. Also a fan of the Exposure Flare Pack for commuting.

Rear

Dinotte 140L rear (simply awesome but the battery pack is a pain)
couple of other random rears
Lupine Edison HID that I need to find the charger for!

Dozens of Cateye rear lights
too many... all home made..
2 halogen plumbing pipe specials with philips masterline bulbs 10w and 20w
XPG LEd lights...
1 hoppalight mk 1.8 950 lumens ish
1 hoppalight mk 3.2 1300 lumens ish
1 hoppalight mk 4 1800 lumens ish
1 teenyweeny mini hoppalight mk5 with 950 lumen ish
and plans for a few more with XML's when funds permit..
its an addictive hobby!
Not really sure if you can call them lights as they don't light anything anymore because I was shafted by the companies by them not providing any kind of after sale service.
1 Cateye Stadium light (broken)
1 Lupine Eddison (broken)
But now a new Troutie Liberator. Don't see the need for any other lights now TBH.

sorry for late reply! well my mate runs 2 of those mj872, but last years models of 900 lumens each.....
my maxx daddy is probably just about as bright as both of his on full settings, theres no way they are 900 lumens each (if my 1200lumens are correct of course)....but he got 2 for 100quid or there abouts and mine was 250quid!
the actual light itself is much nicer, its got a much better beam, crisper light, white etc etc.....but his arent the xml bulbs led's the older ones....
i love the maxx daddy and diablo combo - its more than ill ever ever ever need and cant see why ill ever change that now unless it breaks...
the best thing about them is the cable free design, i absolutly love that!
so yeah to sum up, its a lot brighter than 1 of the mj782 900 lumen ones, and very close if not the same as two of them side by side!
those lights are great value for money, if you cant afford the maxx daddy id get one of them without a second thought...dont like cables though and batterys, thats my main reason for the maxx daddy

An Airbike SL2 and a couple of Magicshines
I'm way too into picking up lights. It's becoming a problem.
MJ872
P7 Bastid
DX XPG torch
Another XML torch on the way and I drunkenly picked up one of these for a potential external battery mod/helmet light.
Any advice from the light modders on here as to how I might get on running the triple xml torch with a Magicshine external battery which pushes out downwards of 8.1v?
