A NBD post here got me thinking. For me, it's not many!
1990 - A 10-speed Falcon MTB. £155
1992 - Coventry Eagle Mezzo with raised chainstays and 18 gears. Stolen 3 months later. £220
1993 - British Eagle MTB with 200GS, small frame and a seatpost taller than the BT tower. £250
1994 - Rigid Giant CFM3 with Deore LX. One of the great loves of my life so far. £450 in a sale. Rode it daily until...
2022 - a Cannondale Tesoro Ebike, due to long COVID. £2200.
I still do want to buy a slick gravel bike one day, if I recover fully. Maybe for my 50th...
All of my bikes were bought brand new, most warranties are only valid for the original owner.
I’ve had over 20 bikes to date, but these are the only 4 I’ve bought new/ complete - the remainder built up from frames
1991 Cannondale M600 Beast of the East
2001 Specialized Rockhopper Pro
2020 Specialized Diverge Carbon
2021 Moustache Samedi ebike
All new, bar a XC FS MTB for MrsF (via a mate and a bargain) and a CX bike I bought recently.
Only five new and four I still have. Sold one.
Hmmmmm. As an adult....
1) Apollo Equito around '95 bought from Halfords in Hayes with a mate's staff discount. Nicked in early 2000 from a bike shed at uni. Replaced with a load of spare bits from here there & everywhere.
2) 2001 Stumpjumper FSR - not sure if this counts as it was bought "2nd hand" from Leisure Lakes, Daventry. BUT, it had been purchased, ridden once & sold back to the shop as the original owner had some kind of heart issue. So, £400 cheaper than RRP with a disc brake upgrade and only ridden once, so virtually brand new.
3)2010 Stumpjumper FSR.
3a) - bought an brand new Inbred frame & stuck the bits off the '01 Stumpjumper onto it - so new frame, not new bits
4) 2013 (or thereabouts) - Carraro D'Ambiez road bike - a bit shit & now resides on turbo trainer. Fine to dip my toes into the road bike experience.
5) 2023 - Sonder Camino
I bought a 2nd hand Inbred frame many moons ago. Everything else has been new, whether frame-only or complete bike.
All my bikes have been bought new, but I tend to sell on if I'm not going to ride it rather than hang onto them.
2006 Orange P7 (sold)
2014 Whyte Suffolk (stolen)
2015 Whyte G150 (sold)
2018 Parlee Altum Disc
2020 Mason Bokeh
Most of them have been new really. Only the lads bikes have been 'used' and the used ones came from a trusted source. I did buy a used G170, which i sold to a mate and i still see him regularly out riding it 🙂
Bikes... 198? something .. then eMTB last year.
I had 2 new frame between then but one was £50 and the expensive steel one £300 (I'd already decided not to buy as it was £300 and £26 delivery but the free delivery convinced me)
Most have been new, only used bikes I’ve bought have been when the deal was too good to miss.
Was very fortunate that I was sponsored by a manufacturer; even though I was rubbish we still managed to get a good deal. Had nothing to do with ability, just being in the right place at the right time. Kit was free, wheels, tyres and finishing kit were insanely cheap but bikes we had to buy at cost (so the cost for the manufacturer to import the bike to the UK, anywhere between 50% and 60% reduced from RRP). I still get a good deal, last bike I bought from them I got 30% of the price.
But the downside is this has limited to me only riding bikes from the same brand. I did try to buy a new bike from another brand but the process just wasn’t the same as buying from folk who already know me and are incredibly friendly and flexible with the sale.
One of my second hand bikes was the manufacturers “model” bike that was used for photoshoots. I got that for pretty much next to nothing. Was a £10k bike and I paid less then £2k. And I still miss that bike.
Probably around half I reckon. More so nowdays as having the backup of a warranty is useful.
I’ve had very few new bikes, had an Apollo Kalamunda in about 1992, Giant Boulder in 1996, Vitus Zenium in 2019 and On-One Big Dog in 2022.
I’ve had about 40 bikes since 1996, maybe more, I’ve built some new bikes with probably 95% new components but there is always something, even if a saddle, that’s second hand.
As an adult:
2008 Saracen Element (when Saracen were crap....)

Just bought a Specialized Turbo Vado SL 4 EQ 2023 for mum but been on phone to Edinburgh bike co-op as it hasn't been delivered, found out its being returned to shop as DX freight have damaged it in transit.
No more bikes for me as I can no longer ride
3 of my 4 current bikes are second/third/fourth/fifth-hand frames with components swapped from outgoing frames. Last complete new bike was in 2018 (a too-good-to-miss Intense Carbine with 40% off) and I swapped most components for existing stuff I had before getting the tyres dirty.
I've only bought a few new complete bikes in my lifetime: I'm a fussy bugger and don't tolerate 'stock' bikes 🙂
I also couldn't afford my current bikes at what they'd cost new - portraying a lifestyle waaaay beyond my means...
11 brand new complete bikes in the last 20 years. Probably a similar number of frames and/or second hand bikes and frames.
Nearly all road or commuter bikes. Last MTB was 2004
1995 Univega Alpina 505, my first proper MTB, 969 double butted frame, so flexy the wheel touch the stays when I was sprinting, but had that amazing steel feel.
1998 Marin East Peak FRS ( to replace the Univega which had been stolen)
2009 Specialized Hardrock ( 30th birthday present so I had a spare bike to ride when the EastPeak was getting serviced.
2012 Viking Roma £240 budget road bike to go on the turbo
Never owned a secondhand bike
If we're talking brand new fully built complete bikes only 5, my list is:-
1997 GT Timberline
2006:Marin Rocky Ridge
2009 Cannondale Prophet
2019 Giant Reign
2023 Ibis Ripmo AF
Brand new complete bikes:
2 BMX's as a kid.
2003 GT Avalanche 1.0
Btwin 500 SE road bike or what ever it was
Planet X Pro Carbon Evo Road Bike
All others have been either built up from frames and parts, some brand new:
On one Inbred 29er, Cotic Solaris, Planet X London Road, Cotic Cascade
or second hand either full bikes or frames and triggers brrom bits. Seems I've never owned a brand new full suss frame!! Although my Reactor was barely used when I bought 2nd hand.
1985(?) Raleigh Styler BMX
1992(?) Raleigh Dynatec Diablo LX
Everything else has been secondhand or frame and components.
1985(?) Raleigh Styler BMX
That's what mine was, not a "Burner Super Tuff". Mine was silver with black mag wheels
And my Raleigh MTB was a Marauder, not Montage 🙂
1984/5 Foxbat FX1 BMX out of some catalogue or other. Was so chuffed but it was pretty crap.
2006 Starling Swoop frame direct from Joe - 90% of the components to build it up were 2nd hand and it's still my main bike.
Everything else has been 2nd hand or ex-demo at best.
I don’t think I’ve ever bought a second hand bike that I can remember. My timeline goes something like;
1984 - Diamond Back BMX
1992 - Marin Bear Valley SE
2002ish - Marin TARA full suspension
2008ish - On One Inbred
2010ish - On One 456
2010ish - On One Pomp
2011ish - Specialized Enduro
2016 - Specialized Fatboy
2017ish - Singular Rooster
2017ish - Cotic RocketMax
2019ish - Cotic BFe 27.5
2020 - Kona Sutra LTD
2021 - Ragley Big Wig
2022 - Cotic BFe 26 (actually this was second hand)
I’ve still got everything from the Fatboy onwards.
Just bikes or do frames count? Between Mrs NBT and Me
Trek 4500 (me)
The Last Ever Deore Geared Inbred (me)
Santa Cruz Juliana (Mrs NBT)
Kinesis 4T (me, Cycle to work scheme)
Inbred Frame (Mrs NBT)
Gary Fisher Roscoe (me, Cycle to work scheme)
The First Ever Blue Pig Frame In The Wild (me)
Orbit Velocity Tandem (both of us)
I think that's it tbh? We've also had a fair few second hand bikes over the years
'94 GT Talera
'96 Kona Kilauea
'98 Cannondale Super V 1000SL
'00 Santa Cruz Chameleon
'03 Klein Palomino
'08 Trek 1.5 (Road)
'12 Enigma Etape (Road)
'18 Cube Litening (Road)
What this list doesn't cover is loads of frames both new and 2nd hand and swapped parts.
Everything since I bought my first MTB (a Saracen Sahara back in September 93 for my 16th birthday although it was a 1994 model).
Before that I'd only ever had S/H bikes, and the usual random mix of kids bikes.
Plus I had a few frames and/or bikes as part-sponsorship deals from about late 90's to mid 00's so they were always new and then a mix of new parts and stuff transferred across.
1985(?) Raleigh Styler BMX
One of my BMXs was a Raleigh Styler Mag, turquoise, white and pink!
That’s what mine was, not a “Burner Super Tuff”. Mine was silver with black mag wheels
yep, that’s the nugget. Oval chrome tubes… a beauty
This probably spans about 20 odd years:
Carrera BSO but got me to ❤️ mtb - stolen from Bristol Templemeads once I’d converted into a commuter.
Cotic Soul 26 new frame I built up with mostly new parts. Still running, just!
Transition Spur, got lucky finding the Deore build in my size during the Great Bike Shortage. Can’t imagine ever changing it but then I thought that about the Cotic!
Got a secondhand Scott road bike thing during lockdown for turbo duties and the occasional dabble on roads, but that’s about it for me.
Be cool to have a bike list bit on your profile.
I've had 7 brand new and 7 second hand in 45 years of riding bikes. Both current bikes were new, one is now over 6 years old the other 3 years old.
1995? Carrera mission, bought by parents. Little did they know they were providing a gateway drug.
2008 Specialized SX trail
2013 Trek 1.2
2014 Trek Madone (the one that’s in the classifieds)
2014 Santa Cruz 5010, still got
2014 Santa Cruz Nomad
2014 Specialized Fatboy
2016 Specialized turbo levo
2017 Pivot 429 SL
2017 Specialized Sequoia, still got
2018 Deviate Guide, still got
2021 Deviate Highlander, still got
2022 Rå.410, still got
Plenty of 2nd hand stuff, and new frames built up with spare parts.
Be cool to have a bike list bit on your profile.
Nah, that'd be the bike equivalent of a little black book. I couldn't ever, just in case Mrs a11y ever found my STW profile...
Hmmm,
Raleigh Burner at I think 7th birthday 1985
Raleigh Road Bike, Cant remember Model, 1987
Apollo Blizzard 1989
Canondale Flash 2013
Kona Process 134 2015
RM Altitude in April
Only bought one bike myself, a Halfords ten speed racer, early seventies that I saved up for from my paper round.
Two other bikes bought for me by my wife, an Orange Gringo for my fortieth and a Bianchi San Remo, both bikes have some different components on now, on the Orange only the frame is original, both give me great pleasure still!
an edit! I’d forgotten, my entry into mountain biking was a Saracen something, fully rigid, one up from cheapest model and used all round the Peak District and beyond for years. Panaracer Smoke 1.95 tyres, 24 gears and initially cantilever brakes. Fantastic fun used to collect my daughters from school covered in mud and, quite often, blood!
All of them except a Specialized Turbo Vado SL 4.0 for Mrs SSS last year. Which has been sold, and we bought a new Specialized Turbo Vado SL 4.0 this year.
One new bike as a kid - a Sunn GT10 XL 10spd racer. Black. It was so-o-o cool. All my mates only had 5spd.
Adult? 3 new bikes.
Carlton R531 Racer. Stolen.
Raleigh Dynatech 500 Racer. Crashed\written off.
Kona King Kikapu FS. Crashed\written off.
Everything since has been 2nd hand.
My 2009 Iron Horse 6Point was bought used in 2010 but it didn't appear to have been ever ridden. Needs a bit of a refurb now though...
Carrera Mission 1993 ish, stolen and replaced with:
Diamondback Ascent 1994 or Apex, now my brother's pub bike.
Marin B17, the long travel single pivot, 1997
Ridley Kanzo Carbon, arrived yesterday.
1997 - Kona Lava Dome (still got it)
2005/6 Specialized Enduro Elite
2008/9 S-Works Enduro Carbon SL - built up myself to an almost identical spec with all brand new parts. Only notable difference being Hope brakes
2016 YT Capra CF Pro
2019 Specialized Kenevo (current bike)
Had an old gate of a s/h Scott before the Kona and somewhere around 2017 bought a Production Privee Shan frame that I built up with bits old and new (still got it). That's it in 30 odd years
As an adult -
2010 - Boardman Comp MTB - Sold 2022
2012 - Boardman Comp Hybrid - Sold 2016
2014 - Giant Defy Road bike - Still got it
2017 - Pinnacle Arkose - Sold 2022
2022 - Dolan GXA Gravel Bike - Still got it
2023 - Basso Venta Road bike - Still got it
All the above were bought via Cycle to work - its a no brainer really - the ticket price on the Arkose was £999 in 2017, i paid around £600 via C2W and sold it in 2022 for £550...
I think the Basso will be my last new bike for a while now - as its effectively replacing the Giant which is 10 years old. I'll probably use my next C2W opportunity to buy some nice wheels for the Basso.
Sort of a mix
2010 Carrera Fury which I still have for tootling along the disused railway next to the house.
2016ish a 26"bfe frame kitted out with mostly second hand parts
2022 Bird Aeris9 which was delivered just as I was slapped with Covid and have only been out a handful of times on it as I just can't seem to get my fitness back, well I say fitness .....
My first set of MTBs were new; back in the 1980s/90s.
A road bike - s/h. None of the above still in shed.
Then a s/h road bike (Allez) and s/h SS MTB (Kilauea). Still got those.
Most recent bikes have been new - general purpose, MTB, MTB, gravel.
How the hell do people remember what bikes they have had !?!
Something like this but with gaps !
Raleigh Grifter
Raleigh Equipe Road Bike (used more off road than on road)
First proper MTB a Diamond Back of some sort (white and black speckled paint)
Specialized Rockhopper (orangey red paint) - second most fav mtb of all time.
Kona (cant remember model)
Klein Fervor (most special mtb ever)
Cannondale x 2 (cant remember model) most disappointing bike ever (one stolen then replaced)
Ribble Terry Dolan 531 Road Bike
Gary Fisher Cake 2 DLX
Giant Anthem (stolen)
Giant Anthem 2013
Boardman CX Comp 2011 (the only 2nd Hand bike Ive owned)
KTM Revelator Road Bike 2018
Out of those Ive still got the Giant Anthem, Boardman and KTM - definitely need a new bike !
?80s/90s - Raleigh Marauder
2005 - GT Moto
2007 - Mongoose Black Diamond Triple
2008 - Bianchi Road bike
2012 - Orange Alpine 160
2020 - Calibre Line 29
everything else has been bought secondhand
I would probably say more than any single individual on here.
When I retired 2 years ago I bought my supposedly last forever bike.
I have bought 3 since then.
Here we go:
1975: Raleigh Record
1992: Diamond Back Sorrento
1994: GT Tequesta
2003: Marin Wolf Ridge (nicked in 2008)
2008: Orange 5 Pro (nicked in 2010)
2011: Orange 5 Pro (nicked in 2023)
2020: Sonder Camino AL Rival 1 (nicked in 2023)
2023: Sonder Camino Ti AXS Rival 1
2023: Orange 5 Pro Evo
I would probably say more than any single individual on here.
Reckon you & @Mamadirt should have a showdown 😉
Without joking I reckon it must be near 50. If not more.
Mamadirt was my role model years ago....... just ace.
Around 10 in 55 years. For last 20 have mostly bought used frames and put them together myself so they have all the parts that I actually want rather than having to change almost every part.
4 I think. A Raleigh Marauder Index (with 18 gears, hell yeah), A Carrera Krakatoa (with a flexstem), a Voodoo cross bike, and my Calibre Dune fatbike. No coincidence they're all under £500 and 3 of them are from halfords!
FunkyDunc
How the hell do people remember what bikes they have had !?!
I've got a list! Created years ago in response to piss-taking from mates about frequency of bike swappage. Not sure it helped my cause and not sure I want to share it at risk of further extracting of the urine...
ton
Without joking I reckon it must be near 50. If not more.
I'm up to bike #42 and still in my mid-forties 😀
How the hell do people remember what bikes they have had !?!
Quite easily, every penny I earned went on bikes and bike stuff so there’s loads of memories from day trips/weekends away to ride bikes, holidays riding bikes etc. I moved into my council house back in 1993 and lived happily for 6 years with a bike stand and toolbox in living room, bare floorboards, my parents 20yr old 1970s orange velour sofa, small table and a mattress supported by 4 pallets with cardboard boxes for clothes.
Actual complete bikes.
I had a little 24" wheeled Raleigh 10 speed road bike when i was about 10, everything before that was retrieved from the tip and repainted by my dad. Then a Raleigh Quasar at about 13, next actual *bike* was a Trek 970 at 17 then a Steel GT Karakoram when i graduated at 22. (i'd built half a dozen bikes up from new frames and kits of parts through my teens though.)
Next complete new bike was a carbon HT in 2009 in my mid 30s, which i actually dismantled before i rode it, wheels, bars, stem, brakes, rear mech, chainset. Then a carbon FS that i got in 2019 and a road bike last year.
Probably built ~25 bikes between the Karakoram and now. I mean, i've got more bikes in my bike room, ready to ride, than i've ever bought.
And i won a BMX once, does that count?
Only one complete bike - first MTB a 1990 Trek 950, since then mostly 2nd hand apart from 4 (1 Prince Albert & 3 Genesis frames) I've built up from new frames but with some new and some 2nd hand parts.
Makes me realize how staggeringly spoilt I've been, particularly over the last 15 years.
Every bike I've ridden has been new except
2001 loaner of a Giant ATX880 for my first season in Whistler.
2003 purchased ex-rental Kona stab garbanzo,
2006 season loaner of a Banshee chapparal
2016 weekend rental of an Ibis mojo in Sedona.
New bikes.. I don't think I should put a number down.

A couple of new frames but built up with s/h or parts bin bits, and quite a few nearly-new bargains. Generally I've bought things 2nd hand and had a succession of triggers broom bikes, buying complete bikes, swapping things I want to keep onto the new one, then selling off the resulting pile of bits.
A puch 10sp racerback in the 70s. An ex demo salsa beargrease a Shand and i just bought a cube ebike
(after realising that every new bike I've ever bought was from a supermarket, I'm pretty sure every new frame and fork I've ever bought was either from On One in a sale or CRC in a sale)
I'm a serial bike changer, clocked up over 60 different bikes in 23 years, but some of the bikes I've had have been either new bikes, or new frames;

I may have missed a couple there but that's the main bikes I can remember.
Usually buy frames, don't think there's a production bike out there that I wouldn't wanna change half the parts on, being a Shimano, Rockshox and Hope guy. SRAM seem to dominate bike spec, lots of brands don't even have a Shimano specced model.
Singlespeedstu, Jesus h Christ dude, bravo just for remembering all of those, what a list 😀

Looking at some of the lists, what percentage of PX/OO frame/bike sales are accounted for by STWers? Are you even a proper STWer if you've not owned at least one three PX/OOs?
Back to the original question of 'brand new' bikes, of my 42 bikes only 9 were brand new, full-builds. The others are mostly frame swaps with an even split between new and used frame-only, plus a handful of complete used bikes. Here's mine 😀
Random BMX 20”
Apollo Blizzard – new, complete bike, 24” wheels, first ATB on my 7th birthday.
Townsend BSO – new, complete bike.

Trek 7000 – used, frame-only, replaced Univega 703.
Specialized Enduro – new, frame-only and new everything, first FSer.
Kona Explosif – new, frame-only, replaced Trek 7000. Didn’t live up to expectations.
Orange 5 – used, frame-only, via ‘LardLover’ on STW, replaced Enduro which ate shock bushes monthly.
Cotic Soul – new, frame-only, replaced underwhelming Explosif.
Specialized Allez – new, complete bike, for commuting.
Dialled Bikes Love/Hate – used, frame-only. Built into a cheap SS.

Just 2 I think. My first BMX (Haro F3) and a CAAD8. My MTBs are usually built up from existing parts and either new or used frames!

did you send it back? or did you end up having to punt it? it' a kller blow to get a bike you think will be great, only to have it turn out not quite as expected.
Must have had at least a hundred retro bikes since I started collecting back in 2007 but actual new bikes?
1989 Saracen Tufftrax. Second hand Orange Clockwork followed this and both saw me through my youth.
1999 GT XCR 4000. Horrendous thing.
2004 Orange Evo 4. Bent seat post on a tank slapper so got...
2006 Orange 5.
2014 Orange 5 29.
2017 Orange Segment. Got a 2020 Stage 5 frame under warranty and it's still my main bike.
2020 Ragley Trig.
2022 On One Whippet. Terrible SX groups ruined it.
2022 Pace RC627. Built from parts but they were 99% new.
Had plenty of second hand modern stuff too.
I've had 3 brand new bikes
Raleigh super tuff 2 burner ( 1984)
Marin bear something full sus ( back when the frames were tubular and had cross over points) 1999
Rose Tusker fat bike 2015 ( still have this and still one of my favs, infact I was out today on it)
Don't know if this is included
But for road bikes I prefer to buy new frames and build to my spec
2012 Pinerello Dogma
2016 Cipollini RB1k
2019 Sworks Venge ( my current road bike, I only got it because its disc)
I still have the other 2 frames one is in the loft , the other is my zwift bike
Had a bunch of borrowed bikes, then 2nd hand, couple of ex-demo bikes when I got properly into mtbing…2016 was my first brand new, in an online sale. Still got it. Took it to BPW earlier this year.
Built my ti gravel bike with all new parts shortly after that, but it doesn’t count as the stem was 2nd hand off stw classifieds.
And then the eMTB, again in a sale, this year… almost cost as much as the gravel bike, which is all top notch kit.
So 3 brand new (there was another emtb but didn’t keep that very long)
Privileged enough to have never bought (or been given) a secondhand one.
1984 - Raleigh Night Burner BMX.
1990 - Peugeot roadie, can’t remember the model.
1991 - Raleigh Mustang. First MTB. Purple!
1993 - Orange Clockwork with Pace RC35s and XT.
1995 - GT RTS 1, bought a new frame and moved the kit from the Orange as I cracked the Orange’s frame.
2001 - Kinesis T roadie, custom built 105
2003 - Rock Lobster 853, custom built, Pace forks and XT
2005 - Planet X Pro Carbon Dura-Ace roadie
2006 - Specialized S-Works Epic custom build with Rockshox forks and SRAM X0
2014 - Orange Five Pro with Fox forks and XT
2015 - Kinesis TK2 custom build with 105
2015 - Planet X EC130e custom build with Ultegra DI2
2016 - Specialized S-Works Epic World Cup
2017 - Cannondale Super-X
2023 - Ribble CGR-Ti, Ultegra DI2
Everything has been sold or died bar the Ribble and the last Kinesis. In between all those were a bunch of new bikes with engines. And I don’t mean e-bikes.
91ish ATB BSO
93ish ATB BSO with 200gs
95 Univega Alpina 5.3
98 No name aluminium frame custom build
99 DMR Trailstar
08 Specialized Pitch Pro
13 Kona Unit
21 Bird AM9
A few used and triggers broom builds mixed in there but not listed.
Think the last brand new complete bike I had was a Halfords 5 speed road bike in the very early 80s.
Everything since has either been...
A klunker MTB built from stuff picked up at Police auctions. Probably built 3 or 4 of these in the early 90s.
Built up from a frame (although admittedly they've all been bought new). This is how the vast majority of my bikes have come into being - Lee cooper one-off XC, DMR Trailstar, Identiti Mr Hyde, Cotic BFe, Orange Alpine 160, Cotic Rocket, Sonder Transmitter, Cotic RocketMAX.
A second hand complete bike (Specialized Epic) but this was immediately strippped down and rebuilt with a few different parts.
Built from scratch (bamboo road thing).
The last one was a Raleigh wayfarer in 1975. Everything some version of Trigger's broom.
50+ bikes in the last 18 years - I bought my first new one last year...and then promptly stripped everything from it and kept only the frame.
Not many brand new 'Bikes' at all -
1990s 99 quid Apollo Kaos
1999 (?) Kona Hahahanna, first proper MTB
2001 Kona Chute
Then a huuuuuge gap till I bought a Boardman Pro FS in 2017.
However I have had dozens and dozens of used and new framesets in that gap and post-boardman, I've usually got two or three bikes on the go and dont often keep them more than a couple of years, I'm very fickle. I much prefer the custom building process and its highly unusual anyone ever puts an off-the-shelf bike together that tempts me!
A couple when I was a kid, one was a Peugeot Premier, loved that bike.
GT outpost in about 1996
Kona Lava Done in about 1997( still used for daily commute)
Rock Lobster 853 in around 2001/2 still got it.
Felt something or other road bike in around 2003
Giant Defy in about 2008
Specialized Diverge about 5/6 years ago.
On one Inbred in 2022
I just assumed most people bought parts and swapped stuff around as a way of getting 'new' bikes, so genuinely surprised to hear about so many bikes bought new.
Only ever bought one complete new bike, a Merlin Malt 1, which was my first proper MTB after doing my first off-road ride on a borrowed bike. Ever since it's just been frames and parts mashed together.
Sounds like it's time for a proper new bike!
