And how is frozen mud the grippiest surface on earth but frozen water the least?

Descent of Bainbridge expressway last Saturday was comical to say the least. Firstly too deep to get going. Then fast on a cracking surface with occasion from end wipe outs. The stupidly fast on ice. Then in a ditch. Brilliant.

Around here (Bath) currently ace ๐Ÿ™‚

Last week muddy trails - this week armadillo trails - hard on the outside soft below the surface ๐Ÿ™‚

Like hardpack with some 'give' in it

I went to Lee Quarry today, it was an icy world of death!!

Solid sheets of ice at the bottom of most of the rollers. Hoping that this weekends ride is a little less scary (and less expensive, managed to mangle my rear mech today!)
