Use decent tyres.
You'll need a lot of air in a hurry.

watch the stans vid on youtube

forget "ghetto" - proper rims, proper tyres, bit off lubricant (fairy liquid or some tubeless jizz) to help seating and you'll be pretty much totally trouble free

What kit, rims and tyres are you using?

The deeper the channel in the rim the harder they are to inflate (my XM719 is a pain in the ar*e). If there is a deep channel then pack it out using some foam draught excluder under the rimstrip.

Other than that, watch the videos on the Stans website and do what they say, and have a friend with a compressor on standby ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Obviously he's a bloke and we don't read manuals! Lol trial and error is much more fun. ๐Ÿ˜€

Make sure you remove the valve core before inflating to maximize air flow. I mounted mine with a track pump. And they were high volume 2.4 mountain kings on normal rims. ๐Ÿ™‚

edit: If it goes with a loud bang and there's stans juice everywhere it means you stuck too much air in or too much too quickly! (yes I did that!)

No issues with XM 719's and EX 721's here rim strip in the 721's just yellow tape in the others. Redone the 719's with a track pump last week.
(maxxis Ardent)
Stans Yellow Tape and remove the valve core to seat it, then add the fluid. Squirty bottle of washing up liquid solution helped too.

Thinking the same as fed up with weekly punctures. Watched the notubes vid last night, seems simple enough. OK with 717 Disc and something like X-King 2.2 or High Roller 2.1?

I put a thread up a while ago asking for advice going tubeless. Loads of help.

For me, Before installing the rimtape make sure the wheel is totally clean. I used Mucoff brake cleaner to get all traces of dirt off. That way the rim tape seals 100%.

Install rimtape properly. Put tyre on with an innertube. Inflate.
This just seals the rimtape and seats one side of the tyre on the rim.
Leave for ten minutes or so then,
Remove one side of tyre and take out innertube.
Put in sealant, pop tyre onto rim.

Now the tricky part.

Depending on your tyre choice the tyre will either inflate properly using a track pump or

It wont, if it doesn't then use washing up liquid and water mix so act as a lube. Again try with track pump.
I have never had a problem up till now.

If this still doesn't work use a compressor.

It is a faff the first time but well worth it. and it gets easier the more you do it.

Then again using a mix of washing up liquid and water smear around the rim to check for any leaks.
