Any tips on getting rid of that awful smell. They are new shoes but after a few rides through some puddles they just stink. You all know the smell when you put them inside on the radiator so there dry for tomorrow's ride, then you wake up in the morning and the whole house smells of them. What are your tips ? Would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Give em to a tramp?
Soak in a basin of detergent overnight.
Soak in plain water to rinse.
Dry on radiator.
Assos cycling wash - Double the dosage they suggest on the bottle and stick them in a bowl of warm water. Leave them overnight to soak.
Drain/squeeze out excess water and then stuff them with a t-shirt that's clean but going in the wash to absorb some more water. When that's done (10-15mins) stick them on radiator or airing cupboard. They'll smell of the antibacterial Assos stuff and that's never a bad thing in my opinion as everyone will associate it with 'clean'.

Liberal sprinkling of bicarb of soda in each shoe, then stuff with newspaper and leave to dry.
I use 2 lumps of charcoal in each shoe, works for me.
Detail antibacterial spray works brilliantly.
Leave them in the shed.
Wash in sodium carbonate (washing soda)
Buy new ones.
I'd tried Nikwax basewash, boot bananas and then I bought some Halo Proactive Sport Shoe Spray from Merlin - amazing stuff!!!
No washing needed.
Wee in them. Apparently the ammonia in urine neutralises the smell.
Put my feet in them. Win win
take the soles out, rinse the shoe and wash the soles separately with a bit of hand soap or whatever, it's the soles that are the stinkiest bit
Put my feet in them. Win win
