MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Photoshop stick or they are so light they barely touch the ground anyway & float just above it
Rest it on a stone/bottle/stick then photoshop.
Either that or have a mate balance it then when they move take the picture before it falls!

This - fact, you're not able to photograph bikes if you have no friends.
Can you not make objects levitate through the power of your mind?
Tsk! You humans..... 🙄
There are 2 bits of lead block glued to the back of those wheel rims 😉
Hold it up with thin thread, ie fishing line. It would be barely visible in the photo.
Balance it, quickly run into position and take a photo before it hits the ground.
EDIT: Bollocks, someone else beat me to it! 😆
Someone on this thread has it right 🙂
Really thin wires holding it up from above like a Thunderbird. Totally the way I do it...
be brave, Ghostie it 😉
Get a mate to balance it then jump out of shot. I've also used a tripod and self-timer when I was on my own. Wait for the beeps and jump.

Photoshop would be a damn sight easier though.
Hang it from a tree..
They buy a "finite area gravimetric field generator/nullifier" which runs on a couple of AA batteries and causes the local area gravity to be reduced to zero, allowing the bike to remain standing for the photo.
Or, they use a bit of string/fishing line........ 😉
put the bike on it's back then turn the camera round. 😉
You're all wrong. Clearly that bike is 50ft long and they're simply leaning the saddle against the red brick building
If its balanced, sureley it would be faling over and be a bit blurry????
jedi mind control....thats how you do it 😆
There's an old Billy Connoly sketch that explains it all............
It's all an optical illusion - we simply pay a street artist to draw the background directly on the pavement and lay the bike on it - I believe the makers of Batman in the 60's used a similar method to give the impression Adam West was sober enough to climb a rope.
Its all done with a green screen then the background is added later just like in the films.
What like this one?

(old bike, old photo!)
A little trick I learnt many years ago 🙂
What like this one?
Yes, although that one does look a bit as if it is about to fall over..............
What like this one?
Looks like the pedal is on an upturned glass.
Fatbikes genuinley do stand up on their own.

All the studio shots at Bespoked were held up by helper who let go for a few seconds on command from photographer. No bikes or helpers were injured.
OP: That bike belongs to Dynamo.
Claude Rains* is quite good at track stands.
* other invisible men might suffice
I go up a hill on a really windy day and balance the bike against the wind while I take a photo...

The first time some magazine guys took some pics of our bikes they they described it as a 'drop shot'. It took 2 of them and it was suggested I might want to look away when they did it!
[s]A bent piece of wire supporting the rearward facing pedal work, generally hidden by the rear tyre. Better than letting go IMHO.
Stick under pedal hidden by tyre 😉
Gravity.....
You sir, are a genius
Looks like the pedal is on an upturned glass.
Bravo Chip, you go it 🙂
There was a thing in the "outro" bit of a pretty old issue of Singletrack, probably around 2004, where they had a little behind the scenes shot of Dave Anderson holding onto a wheel on one side and someone holding onto the wheel on the other side waiting for the photographer to yell "now" so they could jump out of the way.

This, watched the man demonstrate it(Scott bikes in Verb)
