I tried copying the URL of the page and adding it via the IMG button but when I posted it the images just came up as red crosses.
What do I need to do?

right click the image itself, copy the image location, which will end in .jpg probably (all of it: 
)
and add img to each end of that.

When I right click I can "copy" or "copy shortcut" and neither of those seem to be doing the right thing.

You need the image url not the page or even the shortcut. The url of the image posted by olly is this.
You will need to put [ img] at the stare and [/ img] at the end.

right click > properties
then the bit you want is the "Address:URL"
