I'm trying to sell my Pearson single speed jobbie. Looked in classifieds last night and thought that a full frontal lobotomy would be needed before I could understand all that.
I gave up.

Perhaps if you post spec details, price and some pics, some one will tell you?

I just did the same. What is the problem? Does it get much more complicated when you come to actually filling in the form?

Maybe the OP is on a mobile device, where the “Create ad” link is hidden from view.

(It’s in the hamburger menu, top left, the obscured contents of which helpfully change as you move around the site.)

I could've sworn there was someone looking for a small Soul on one of the earlier moaning about classifieds threads.

Not sure the search function will help you, but a bit of digging around in the last couple of weeks' threads might.

I don't understand what the fuss is about i thought it was dead easy.

I mean my frame and forks is in the complete bike section i think but other than that... 😁

Thanks for asking OP. I'm about to sell a medium carbon 29er YT Jeffsy and this is and this is a great way of doing a stealth ad very helpful.

Perhaps we could have a thread of just stealth ads?

Thanks for the help (and the sarcasm from some) - one person did actually have the answer - I was on my mobile logging in and couldn't see the 'create ad link'.

So thanks for the help chaps (as for the sarcasm guys - well if it makes you happy then I don't mind).

I will now use the PC and create an ad from there.

(This caught me out first time, too. Got all excited that it was finally going to be easy to post a picture, so I used a phone… then completely failed to find the way of creating an ad.)

When I look at the classifieds on a phone, until I scroll I can’t see a single ad or a way of creating an ad. When I look at the forum I don’t see a single thread or a way of creating a thread. All of the main workflows pushed off-screen below a load of content hardly anyone will use, like a link to page 3,631 which contains some closed threads from ten years ag–

It's pretty easy to create an advert, upload pictures, add a description, a location and a price. Please see my advert for a PRO Falcon saddle currently in classifieds as proof of how simple it is (as stealth ads seem to be the done thing these days).

You're not using Ad Blocking software by chance are you?

I'm on tenterhooks waitingfor the technical explanation of how an adblocker would stop a menu from working properly. Unless it is one of those "features" that improve the users experience of the site and prevent people from "stealing" from the site owners.

Yup. It changes all over the place. Go to one of the other channels and it changes for each of them; sometimes in ways that kind of make sense, somethings in ways that don’t, but always hidden away behind the hamburger so you’ll never know until you look.

I just checked, I may or may not be using adblocker, which may or may not be within my control, depending on if I am or are not using an adblocker, but if I click on the hamburger menu (or tofuburger for our vegan friends) I do see the create an ad link.

Fair enough, it sounds as though it is device/browser specific. For what it's worth I was using an iphone. Just hit the hamburger menu, selected classifieds. Then hit the hamburger menu on that page and hit Create Ad. I wasn't being sarcastic, by the way. Just couldn't see what the problem was. But it sounds as though the experience is not the same for all, so fair enough.

It's exactly like that on my Android phone. On desktop / laptop I just hit the classifieds link at the top of the page and then use the your ads drop down.

A big "CREATE AD" button at the top of the Classifieds page seems like an obvious omission.

Indeed, it wants a prominent call to action. Two buttons at the top: one to create an ad, one to open the search form which is currently laid out by default and just gets in the way of browsing. Then straight into the ad listing. (So you can get on with the task of scrolling past all the blue ones and get to the useful bit at some arbitrary point halfway down the page if you can spot it as it flies past…)

I’ve done it - it’s taken me a fair while to find the create ad section but I found it in the end by going to my ads and then on from there.

I found it pretty easy to post my XL SC Hightower C frame and shock for sale. I even put open to sensible offers at the bottom 😉
