Just picked up a bike that has an FSA cantilever hanger attached to the steerer tube above the headset.
There is some play in the forks and it appears the cantilever hanger needs to be pushed down for a tighter fit but it seems to be stuck fast to the steerer.
There is no bolt that I can see that is attaching it.
Any ideas?
Odd, may be seized? It is an aheadset? Take it apart, or post some pics.
let the cable tension off the brakes and try and move it then?
Is this one: http://www.fullspeedahead.com/products/312/Orbit-C-CX
Cable removed from canti so no tension.
there's a 'locking ring' inside the headset - try and dissasemble, reassemble it and retighten.
But how do I get inside as that part seems to be covering everything?
The Orbit one in the pic is just a Top cup/shroud/spacer just intergrated with the hanger.
You would adjust it the same as any of headset ie.Loosen off the stem bolts ,nip up the top cap with a Allen key, re torque the stem bolts.
What unovolo said.
Ta, all seems ok now, think GT85 fumes were getting to me!
