Many years ago someone kindly sent me a widget they'd made: a cable guide which attached to eg a rack boss with a simple bolt, and which held the cable/hose on an arm an inch or so long, so that it was clear of the frame.
I'd like to get something similar to attach to a lowrider boss on a carbon road fork to prevent rubbing. Googling for this is proving tricky. Does anyone know of anything? (Have I even explained it clearly?)

Hmm. Might work; I've got some of those at home and I could try some bolts and spacers from the stockpile. Not sure whether it'll get the cable clear enough of the fork but it's worth a punt.
pop a zip tie through a cable ferrule then round the hose, will make it stand off the frame
Anyone have a picture of the zip tie / cable ferrule option. That might help with some of my cable issues.
Basically make the hole bigger, feed the cable tie down the ferrule, through your existing cable guide back up the ferrule then round the cable. It just stands there as a spacer

I do the cable ferrule thing on the headtube, cable tie around the headtube just above the lower headset cup, it goes through a ferrule, round the cable and back through, then around the headtube to the other side, same again, add another cable tie if its too short, and then tighten up.
Cheap ferrules are better as with the sealed type you lose some length once you've chopped off the bit with the O ring seals where the inner cable goes in.
