I've found plenty of guides on how to service the rear hub, but I can't find any for the front. Anyone got any links?

Alternatively, can anyone advise me on how to get the outer covers of the hub, please?

Just prise the covers off, the same as the rear

Then just knock the axle through

there are some good instructional videos on the hope website.

it's very simple - prise the caps off with a screwdriver, put the hub on top of a vice with the axle dangling between the plates of the vice. Using a mallet/hammer, tap (**** in some cases) the end of the axle so it pops out the bottom - it will take a bearing with it. turn the wheel over and from the inside, tap out the bearing that's left in the hub.

re-build is the reverse of the above, but make sure you knock the bearings back in on the race which is restrained - i.e. for mounting on an axle, use a small socket to form a drift on the inner race and hit the socket, for pushing the bearing into the hub, use a larger socket on the outer race.

oh, when hitting, make sure you're supporting the hub, NOT the rim or spokes (you'll prob be resting on the spoke heads)

One tip if you're using a steel hammer
Drop a screw or bolt in the axle & hit that rather than the axle itself

It's the prising of the covers that I'm struggling with. I don't seem to be able to get the leverage that you can against the cassette body on the rear.

Use one screwdriver at right angles under the other

Managed to prise it off with a knife. This was so much easier when I lived in Plymouth and got Fatmuthahubbard to do all my fixing.
