I can only find the rear hub service on hope and this (Evo) on youtube:
How hard is it? From what I can gather its like knocking out headset cuos with a flat headed-screwdriver? (similar principle).
It's easy, even easier with the proper tools. I did it myself shortly after getting into mtb (limited spannering experience) using just the Hope video and some forum searching, you can use sockets and a screw driver if I remember correctly, but it's hard to get the bearings in perfectly. I have the front and rear Hope drifts now and it's a 10 minute job.
as above, it's really easy and a lot easier getting the new ones in with the proper tools. Only issue with using a socket etc is possible bearing damage from the tool not sitting on the outer race properly.
It's easy once you've got the freehub off - if you've not popped it off for a while then it might be stuck onto the axle.
Couple of drips of PlusGas if you freehub gets stuck.
Apart from that really easy, always recommended the Hope install tool so you get the pressure on the outer race, looks nice too
Hora.
remove the free hub and the None drive side and drive side bearings are easy.
The three in the freehub are a different matter (a b!tch to remove if i'm honest).
here you go mate..
a idiots guide.. 😉 luvs ya really.

Getting the new bearings in is easier once you realise that gentle taps don't work. As someone with little spannering, it took a while before I had the nerve to give it a proper whack!
i have some threaded bar and a few home made bearing pullers. hehe
Forget your bearing pullers. Lump hammer and screwdriver is the recommended method.
The hope drifts make life a lot easier. Worth the 20 quid or so in the long run. Have used them on plenty of other hubs aswell.
Here is the Hope video for a pro 2 rear hub service.
The Hope tools make it easy, the seal tool is very useful as if the seal is out of place a little it can make the hub draggy as hell.
I just built an early Pro 2- new free hub body on a steel free hub,
The Hope video is good, about £20 ish for the tools to do it,
Remember and refit the 2mm washer between the free hub and drive side hub bearing or you get a drag when free wheeling 🙂
Some pics and waffle on myblog of the hub i did Here
Will need to scrole down about half way 🙂
