Need to replace mine as they rattle as hell. The width at the point where they enter the lever body the lever is almost a millimeter narrower than the body. Will it work:

Doubtful, why not just get the correct ones? Probably worth replacing the brass barrels as they wear too.

I didn't realise they were different. My issue is they always rattled, on all the sets I ever bought. The bodge is a plastic washer between the body and the bushing, but what's a good permanent solution?

That is the permanent solution as they all rattle. The Tech ones deffo won't fit though.
