any issues with the above?? thinking of swapping standard discs for some hopes, is clearance an issue between the pads with floating hope rotors?

and also my brakes run 180mm shimano discs, and i notice that the hopes are 183mm discs, will this cause an issue also?

I run hope floaters with xt brakes with no issues at all. I do use the hope mounts though to accomodate the 183mm rotors. You won't be able to run a 183mm rotor with a 180mm mount. You'll either have to change to a 183mm mount or get your floating rotor cut in 180mm size (ask at you nearest Hope stockist).

I have used 180 adaptors with 183 rotors, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt, its only 1.5mm difference at the caliper, try the adaptors you got first just to check. You can always run a shim under the caliper (in fact I am right now) to take make it fit.

MMMM, just had a thought, I did recently have trouble making an aging set of deore brakes work with a floating rotor, the bobbins that holds the steel part of the disc to the alloy spider were fouling on the caliper itself, the bobbins often run close to (or touch) the adaptor but in this instance I had to dremel the caliper istelf to clear the bobbins..
