Hello.
I have a scott scale 980 2018 that i have had just over 2 months now.
I have bought renthal carbon fatbars and a shorter renthal apex stem aswella s upgrading the 2.2 maxxis ikons to 2.3 high rollers.
I have a few questions about the hope components. (Compatibility and colour scheme).
First of all my bike is black and green and although scott state the colour as yellow it is far from it. However it isnt a solid green. Anyway apart from the green (that doesn't really go as there are very different shades of green) what other coloured hope components do you think would look good?
Another question about the hope parts is my bike has quick release skewers and not through axles, will the hope wheel sets fit the qr skewers or are they just for through axless.
Thanks
Jack

Black. Seriously. Anything else with that colour combo is gonna look weird.

And Hope do 9mm adapters for their hubs, which is what you need for your QR frame.

I'd say black as well, unless you want it to look like a rainbow.

Having looked at the bike, the above posters are entirely correct. The bike has too much colour already, anything but black will look properly odd.

Some old team hope green kit, if you can find it.

But black is the right answer.

For me, always black. If only because when you change parts they are easier to sell and the parts you decide to keep will always "go" with the colours of an upgraded frame etc.

Just go for whatever colour you fancy. Don’t worry about what some idiots on the internet think. It’s a bike and bikes are meant to be fun. Some people on here take themselves far too seriously.

Without looking at the bike I can say that black is the right answer, it always is.

A little harsh considering the op is categorically asking for opinions on colour choice?...

When u buy hope wheels you usually get the QR adaptors included, have you considered upgrading the back rear axle to a thru axle, I guess the top spec scott will have a stronger rear end, so worth checking if you can buy the adaptors/spares, I had a canyon that felt so much better when I replaced the QR to a thru axle

Purple will look nice with that. We do a similar colour and it goes well.

Black is wrong, except for steel parts.

Alloy should be nicely polished and gleaming.

Says the man with blue anodised Hope bits on all his bikes. 🙂
