My hope rear 2 hub is in desperate need of a service, so I thought i'd do it this evening before heading to kirroughtree tomorrow....however.....I cannot get the driveside spacer off. Tried using a vice and molegrips but no matter how hard I try, it will not budge.
Anyone else had this problem? and more importantly, any suggestions on how I can get it to come free?
Cheers
Martyn
Had this problem a few days ago. Molegrips and lots of swearing eventually did it. Put some effort in.
Heat? hot water sould do.
Gets the bearings in and out of the hub easier as well
Cheers for the replies. Not sure what exactly did it, but used a combination of wd40, heat and brute force. Clamped the spacer in a vice and walked it off in tiny increments.
All the freehub pawls and springs were completely full of c*** and when clearing it all out managed to snap of the the pawl springs. Hopefully be able to pick some up from LBS tomorrow and then will be ready to roll again.
Cheers again
