Where's the best place to get some hooks from so I can hang the bikes up vertically in the utility room, by either the front or rear wheel? There's not much room in there and I'm fed up of having to keep moving them to get in the freezer..!
Do I fasten a wooden 'batten' on to the wall first then the hooks into that?

I got some for pretty cheap from the dreaded Halfords. Mine just went straight into the wall.

I recently got some from Halfords and CRC the Halfords ones are better as they allow a larger tyre to fit in.

B&Q and I'd say yes to a batten or 2, if you stagger the hooks' heights it will help as otherwise handlebars clash.
