Just setting up the Revs today (bought used from STW user), come across a problem......

On setting pressures/sag i let all the air out of the Neg section so i could set the Pos section first, the Pos section has 130 psi as a start but i cannot move the fork at all !!!!!!!. Rock solid.

Put some air back in Neg section 100psi and fork moves again??????

Is this a sign of serious problem?

Not used the forks since buying them a few weeks ago as they are on a frame i'm building up.

Help ๐Ÿ™

No - the negative air is effectively a spring pushing the fork down. lots of positive air and no negative air will make for a very hard fork

Try letting all the air out of both chambers and see if the fork moves?

Exactly the same on my reba 120mm teams, and on my mates revs. Not a problem. I have never understood the guidance to set sag with no air in the neg chamber, as as you have found out it is impossible.

I just put a bit in, like you, and work from there.

Also seems like quite a lot of pres. for Revs. I am 92kg and have gone down to 85+ 90- on my 150 Rev Teams.

Fivespot.....literally is just a starting point i'm 95kg.

I got the idea of no Neg pressure and set Pos first from previous threads from here.....were they wrong because it just didn't work on mine.

With the 2010 onwards Rev's you have to set the sag with equal pressures. Its changed slightly from the older ones where you should set sag with +Ve only.
Set sag with roughly equal +/-Ve and then tune the -Ve for feel.

For reference I'm 72kg and I have 85+ 75- on my 2010 Rev Teams
