My new frame turned up today (the day before they put them up £50!)
but i'm unsure what headset would be best for it.
On One sell this one which will fit:

But at £80 i'm keen to find other options.
An old thread on here lead me to find this one on Superstar:

Which is far more in the price range i was thinking of (cheaper actually) but there was no definite answer that it was the correct one?
Any help appreciated thanks. Or other options (i don't think Hope seem to do one).
Good choice of frame 🙂 I thought the same about the headset when I got mine, you'll find the same headset much cheaper elsewhere, like Chainreaction (9mm top cap for £52.99): http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=84328
Can't comment on the Superstar's one I'm afraid...
Bit of a headache when figuring out a headset for the DH. In the end I ordered this one...

Seems the same as the on the O-O site but cheaper 😕
(i don't think Hope seem to do one).
Correct
:edit: too slow
Cheers, missed that when i looked on CRC earlier. I guess it fits if it's the same one? Price is a far more reasonable as well. Is that what you use?
Is the 9mm/15mm just the size of the spacer on top? Bit confused on that bit?
Is the 9mm/15mm just the size of the spacer on top?
yep
...I used that one off CRC, yes, it is the same one. Not sure why O-O charge so much for theirs...
Cheers guys. Much appreciated.
Think i may go for the 15mm version as i tend to have to run a few spacers to get the bars high enough.
£52 still isn't exactly cheap but i'd hate to have had to pay £80 for a headset. I'm suprised On One don't do some form of deal combo with the frame.
looks similar to my chinese frame and that uses a headset similar to these but maybe awkward its from china i remember it confused me, actually really simple to install
Morning.
I've got the headset now and was going to pop to the LBS this morning to get it fitted.
I just tried it against the frame and both top and bottom cups fit straight into the frame by hand? Do headsets fit differently into carbon frames rather than needing to be 'properly' fitted like a traditional steel/alu frame or is something wrong with either the frame/headset? At the moment it looks as if the headset will just be held in place by the tension of the top cap rather than being tightly fitted into the frame? Cheers.
