It’s on the end of the axle on my new Mavic Crossmax wheel on both sides, not sure what it is. I need to convert the wheel to QR for my El Mariachi SS (which it’s compatible to do) so guessing this needs to come off ?

Yeah that’s what I though but I can’t pull them off with my hand which I presume you should be able to do ?

That’s just the axle end cap. Should be fitted for use as 15mm or 12mm rear. They are threaded on to the axle.
