I am fed up of the headset bolt rusting due to sweatiness and wish to change it for a Titanium one, where is the best place to procure these please?
uberbike
I've used Ti-Spings in the past and the bolts are really nice but postage is a bit hit & miss for some reason.
A stainless bolt will work just as well and less likely to gall than Ti. Plus Ti bolts are just pointless IMO.
Take a wazz before you ride and you'll have saved more weight.
EBay......
Run alloy myself for the headset top cap. Lighter than ti plus they come in tarty colours which is always a bonus and cheaper as well. Another vote for ProBolt but then again not had any issues with ebay Ti bolts either.
The bolts on my stem are rusty, especially the four at the front. Think i might replace these, but are they M5 or M6? I presume M5 x 16mm but have no way of accurately measuring.
Length is easy to measure assuming you have a ruler. Thread size can be determined by checking if they'll fit a bottle tube boss which is M5.
Ta muchly.
