Afternoon all,
Got an On-One whippet with SID world cups coming in the next few weeks when I can meet up with the seller.
I've got some parts I'm going to use for the build but need suggestions for light weight components to get it to a sensible light weight machine.
It's coming with a headset and an XT front mech plus a seat clamp and a set of tyres but I'm going to use the tyres on another bike.
I've got currently kicking about ready
Crossmax sl wheels
XX rear mech
X9 shifters
XT Brakes
XT Chainset
Heavy 10 speed 11-36t cassette which I think I will change
Narrow/wide chainring? and use the front mech as a guide?
Pedals? I use SPD's
What finishing kit is going to help keep the weight down?
Bars/Stem
Tyres (tubeless to go on the crossmax)
Seatpost/Saddle
Cost isn't really a problem so long as we aren't going silly (£100 for bars on their own would be silly)
Suggestions/advice/help on making a light weight XC machine would be much appreciated.
Carbon bars and seat post, ti tailed saddle, keep your eyes peeled for sale offers as I picked all 3 of mine up for less that £100 - truvativ noir carbon post, prologo ti saddle and raceface next carbon bars. Tyre schwalbe tend to be at the lighter end but maybe less durable depending on where you ride and they a bastard to get on/off crossmax wheels!
Uber Light Saddle 😉 http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/fs-selle-italia-slr-saddle-135g-uber-light
Race Face Next Cranks, blows shimano out of the water for weight.
Front mech, Shifter etc. go 1x11 or 1x10 with a 40t best weight saving around no need for a guide
Pedals the Ti Candy 11's
Should knock holes in to the weight.
Get a spreadsheet with everything on it (mine has vlookups to a list of components and their weights) so you can see whats value for money if that is important.
Titanium seatpost is light and more comfortable than carbon...
Mortop or syntace stem and mt zoom carbon bars?
Specialized tyres are fairly light weight, durable compound, easy on and off...and cheap!
Ashima rotors, Ti Qr's - and weigh everything to fine out.

Nah, go I-Beam seat and post (carbon)
Cheers for the ideas so far folks. Keep them coming.
As for the ti railed saddle on offer, thanks but no thanks it's not my cup of tea.
Is this light? I have no frame of reference, all mine are Thomson and one reverb on my other bikes.
Or Carbon
I picked up one of these cracking value and very light 🙂
Garish decals can be removed with acetone(pinch wife's nail polish remover) for stealthy black look ..
I put Ti bolts in my 100mm 96g ... £18ish shipped within week ..
There is another company sell these rebranded for £70+ !!! Can't remember name though 🙁
