Dear All,
Im currently at Swansea University studying geography and as a keen MTBer saw it as my duty and privilege to write my dissertation on the issues facing (or around for academic impartiality..) MTB in my local patch the Surrey Hills - all is going swimmingly as I begin to write but I am struggling to find a historic article referred to by several people I interviewed referring the the 'peace being shattered' or words to that effect by 'young men on bycycles' written my a rambler tyoe chap possibly as late ago as pre 1930 whilst on Leith Hill.
Problem is I cant find it anywhere or even any mention of it - if anyone knows of its whereabouts or has any information regarding it Id be very very grateful!
Thanks in advance,
Jack
find a local group of the Rough Stuff Fellowship - they may have something in their archives.
contact details here: http://www.rsf.org.uk/local-groups.html probably worth talking to for a historic perspective in any event.
will do - many thanks for the tip off!
just had a look at their history page - it mentions an off road Time Trial being run in the 1950's on the kent/surrey border so may well be some history there.
