Cut me in half and apart from the metal work I've acquired from riding mountain bikes, it would say 'mountain biker' inside. Trouble is because of where I live a two hour ride trail ride is a three hour trip. I really want to be able to ride from my front door occasionally, not have to jet wash my entire bike kit and get more miles under my (sagging) belly!
So New Years resolution, buy a road bike, be a MAMIL, loose a stone (already done this once two years ago then broke myself last August and have since put it back on).
Consequence of the injury is a spine that looks like the Norwegian coast line. So spec and budget are as follows:
- Comfy and resilient in ride quality; I don't want anything that's bullet stiff
- No more than £1300
- Quality frame more than quality components
I've been thinking steel and Genesis but would appreciate other suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
