Hi all,
Not knowing much about carbon wheelset market.. Can I do any better than this?
http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=923
80% of my ride in cannock chase , tyre of choice high roller, ardent, ground control, purgatory (26x2.3) if that helps.
Cheers
Seem good value those. Though legendary Superstar service may apply (got to speak to them about the Pacenti 29er XC rims I put in my commuter, apparently 100 miles of smooth tarmac is too much for the front...) TBF that pair weighs the same as my aluminium Rovals, perhaps they're tougher or stiffer (the Rovals are made of noodles tbh but have done years of service in an "enduro" bike and a long travel hardtail)
I'm doing a set just now, pair of Lightbicycle rims + a pair of used DT240s which I'll refurb to new condition, will set me back under the price of those SS ones, with a top quality wheelbuild and lower weight. I think I'd rather put faith in Reynolds than Lightbicycle mind.
(I have one of the old process Lightbicycle rims built onto a DT hub and it's been spot on so far but really it needs a lot more use before I can say from experience that it's good)
Yep, they look really good. Can't seem to find any mention of those rims on the t'internet though
