OK, so assuming you've got an offset rim like the above, which side is the disc side if your building it up? I'm guessing the left hand side?

Cheers

Odd idea. Why? Surely they're laced to streghten a disc wheel build and even up the spoke tensions?

Disc side would be the RHS as you look at your pic above, I take it you're only using the off centre rim on the rear with a normal one on the front?

well, the offset is to partially correct for the offset in the flanges

at the front, the disc-side flange is closet to centre line but at the rear it's the drive-side

(like I said, just IMO)

Referring to the picture above the disc flange or freehub body would be on the left.

Nope, got a pair for a 29er build.

I've laced them with the disc on the right for both wheels but Roger Munstons book suggests that the offset spoke holes should be on non disc side if I understand it correctly.

Bloody annoying. Why don't they mark it on the rim?

halfbee - how does that work on the rear as the freehub is on one side and the disc flange is surely on the other?

So, if I understand this correctly.....

Front = disc on left
Rear = disc on right

Yes?

Cheers

Tim
