Help!

During a ride this weekend the play in the bottom bracket got steadily worse. When I inspected the bottom bracket I found the threads on the cup and on the frame have completely worn.

What options do I have:
1. Repair
2. New frame
3. Some form of bodge!

....I'm warming to the idea of a new frame ....but what? Steel, Alley or Carbon? Still can't really afford one right now.

Cheers,
Rich

Betd/Goldtec £70 with P&P for one side or a £100 for both I believe, mines with them now...

..edits out the smugness 😈

repair - argos cycles IIRC can fit a threaded insert for around £70 - permanent proper repair

You might get way with running a tap thru the threads and new BB depending how bad the damage is

Charlie the Bikemonger had a square taper bottom bracket that worked where there was no thread by threading onto itself. Unsure how good it is, but worth a punt if it saves a frame I reckon...
