I need some advice regarding to frame sizes?
I'm roughly 5ft 7 ish.
What's a good make road bike, I'm not wanting a new one
Just in case in not keen.
Anything else I need to bare in mind ?

Medium Giant Defy. Model based on budget. They are all good.

Other road bikes are available. But the Defy is the perfect all-rounder and an excellent first road bike.

Best thing for road bikes is to sit on one and see. Position is more critical than mtb as you are more static for longer periods so things like reach become more of an issue.

You need to pick a budget. That will probably be the first limiting factor.

IME things on a road bike don't break. So I spend equally across the bike on frame, wheels, components. You might wait until you wear out that tiagra mech to replace with ultegra but it won't happen for years.

Fit is probably what makes a road bike good for you. You can go for more relaxed sportive style bikes or a pure bread race machine with more aggressive geometry. The latter will not take mudguards or wider tyres both of which make riding in winter more pleasant.

Discs or rim brakes. If in your budget and not racing I would get discs but me and many others have got by on rim brakes for years.
