this is the L'Oréal 'science bit' right ?
First the tortoise gets a hole in its shell, then it gets a helmet, proving ...
The helmet will cover the gap 'til it heals.
Tortoise happy, helmet doing it's job.
Tortoise happy

We used fibreglass on our tortoise as a kids to fix a crack while it healed, as instructed by the vet.
Tortoise shells break catastrophically though.
Steel would have bent first giving the Tortoise some warning of failure before a big off.
Yeah I cant work out how duct tape was a great solution to sticking it on.... Nails would be much better...

why've you gone and brought roadies into the discussion? 😉
I like the way they say its held on wiht 'Strong tape' ... duct tape saves the day once again!
Agreed. I just broke yet another one in a head on collision with another rider. Glad it's the helmet with a crack in it, rather than my head. I find whacking on low trees is when I'm most glad I've got one on.
Yes helmets are great, certainly saved me the last time I had a fight with a large tortoise
So are you saying we should only buy a helmet after we get a hole in the head?
and you're fat, slow moving, scaly skinned old git, yeah.
So most stw members then yeah? 😉
yeah most.
But not all.
I'm not old.
