So this week's plan is a Wednesday evening jaunt to GT, meeting around 7pm at the Hub (unless there's a big preference for Innerz....?).

So who wants to come;
ai) and has a car to provide lifts for how many and where from?
aii) and needs a lift from where?

Currently I have space for 1 more from TBC a 6pm.

Aww c'mon big boy, don't be like that. Remember the good times, huh? Like sharing tangfastics in Gypsy Glen? Oh I see......

Get yourself down there, I'll come tuck you in by 10pm 😉

I hope to come along but won't know until tomorrow if I am free of work.

I'll appear at tbc and hope there is a lift free

A friend is going from the Gyle direct to GT. Has space for 1 or 2, if you're a nice person 🙂

I'm up for this. I'll come to TBC for six and would appreciate a lift if there is one going.

Will bring petrol pennies and sweets 🙂

I can reciprocate transport at a later date once my van has been deshonked.

I'd normally be up for this but I'm officially Tapering, ie, sitting around doing **** all in the hope that it mysteriously makes me faster  Have fun y'all. Watch out on magic mushroom, there are probably still bits of my skin blowing around just before the troll bridge, positively unsanitary.

Jimmy : GT is fine but Im kinda lost! 2 threads? Are you back working for tbc or is this some type of tbc splinter / splitter subgroup? Either way I'm going : leaving craigleith / Stockbridge area around 6 and can take 2 more bikes (plus riders). I can swing by tbc if needed. I'd prefer to drive as missus will use car to go shopping if I don't bring it!

Ron

Ronan - where Mark can't be arsed, he gets me to do the dirty work. I feel used, but I kinda like it.

jimmy - 30.9 seatpost, my replacement is sitting in in City Link's 'Edinburgh' depot which is actually in Livingston.

Think I'd need a bit more planning before I could go this evening, working at Gogarburn so that lift from the Gyle would have been perfect. Bike is at home now though.

Def next time.

How long you planning riding?

My mum says I'm not allowed out after dark with bigger boys 😥

It seems there are lots of lifts available at TBC so I'm going to drive straight there and meet y'all at the hub for 7ish.

How long you planning riding?

I dont know about this evening but if the Pentland rides were anything to go by then we'd start heading home around 9-9.30 and most folk ride back into town, maybe getting home around 10.30.

Either it went very well, & everyone's still high on life...

Or all partakers are ashen faced, eyes cast down, mumbling "..the horror.... the horror..." over & over again.

So how'd it go?

Fine - not too much faffing about. Mark claimed to be "tapering down" so would be going slowly and then shot off up the climb like a scared whippet. A couple of debates about which routes to take. We didn't lose anyone permanently and a jolly good time was had by all I believe

It were fun. Scared whippet my arse-the bike weighs 30lbs! Doesn't go anywhere fast.

Was really really dry in places-drifty fun on some corners and a few hairy moments when the odd 'can't ride for s#it' syndrome kicked in.

Next week- Cozzie Hill jump garden and play time?

I enjoyed that. Good to meet and ride with some new folk and a great way to spend a Wednesday evening.

Corstorphine Hill sounds fun but I'm off to a gig next week so I'll have to give it a miss. Will definitely be along for some more rides in the future though.

cheers,
alasdair

I'm sure I'm telling chickens how to suck eggs (or whatever), but if there's going to be a big gang of you, I'd avoid Corstorphine Hill next week if its wet.

No worries Mark. A very enjoyable ride - nice to come home with a dusty bike instead of a muddy one 🙂

btw it turns out the front brake is still under warranty so I'm sending it back.

Believe the cure for Macular Degeneration (loss of vision) is a Lucentis injection right in the eyeball; I'm guessing here but there must be DIY kits available for this sort of treatment...might make a pleasant change from the usuall Friday night S+M gig!!!!
