An author writing a common-sense article. That really is a first.
I like the way it's written, would drag in your 'average joe' car driver and then hits them with the other side of the arguement in a sensible non rant way.
Yet another blatant misrepresentation of that proposed law change though - they want to alter the presumption of guilt, not the actual guilt itself, which would still be assessed.
Even though there is balance in the writing this article still has the potential to increase resentment towards cyclists and hence increase danger.
I have no way of knowing whether these stories of vicious riders are made up or real, but could the people carrying on like utter tools on the road please stop?
No-one ever writes a column in a national newspaper about my safe riding and unflagging courtesy and I'm getting quite bored of them writing about your aggression and ****tism. 🙂
How about someone sends some journalists a link to a bike forum to show how mature, sensible and courteous cyclists really are.....
...oh no, that wouldn't help would it 😕
Gravel? who carries gravel around and why? I like the fact that the incident that prompted the "psycholist" to attack is brushed off and assumed to be nothing.
I like that, nice article.
I like the bit at the end too:
By this reckoning it must always be the fattest one’s fault if two pedestrians collide
I think that should hold true...

that made my day!
What sort of nut job carries gravel around in their pockets? Hammers yes, gravel though?
When I’m on a bike I consider motorists to be a pain in the backside and when I am in a car I consider cyclists to be a pain in the backside
I consider you to be a bit of a silly bitch then.
