What's the secret finger licking recipe?

It's just watered down PVA with sand in it, innit?

PVA? Sand?

I think sir would be better with an off the shelf solution.

Latex and glitter was the mix of choice for the enterprising cheapskate.

£10 for a litre of sealant from Planet X - Sealant
Works well, and you'll do 15 or so tyres from this amount.

Is that stuff any good? When arsing about with fat tyres it doesn't tend to go far enough - would be great to beat the system if possible.

I was using artistic license with my recipe. c'mon guys, enlighten me

I used a mixture of artist's latex, car windscreen washer fluid, and that green slime stuff you can buy for cars for a while. It seemed fine, and worked as well as bought stuff, but the stuff from JRA is cheap enough that it didn't seem worth it in the end.

car windscreen washer fluid,
?

Genuinely intrigued as to why this was part of the recipe?

So it doesn't freeze? Does off the shelf sealant have any antifreeze in it?

Always interested me but a litre of stans goes a long way so it doesn't really seem worth the hassle (because if it goes wrong, it won't just be hassle in the garage on a tuesday evening, it'll be hassle in the rain in the middle of a ride on saturday)

Yes, I've bought two bottles of stuff (currently using a bottle of this, and the previous bottle was same company but a different formula) from PX/OO over the last couple of years, and had absolutely no issues at all with it.

One of the GCN or GMBN did an interview with Kieth Bontrager where he gave his recipe

Unicorn jizz seems to work best.

I just do a latex and water mix 50/50 these days, seems to last well, all the other ideas, adding windscreen wash, glitter, coffee grounds, virgins blood or union piss might work, but watery latex seems to be more than adequate IME, and once you start adding extra ingredients surely the cost savings vanish and you might as well buy a bottle of Stans...
